Celebrity hair stylist Tara Smith speaks up for BUAV's Clean Up Cruelty campaign

Grooming the luscious locks of A-list actresses is what Tara Smith is best known for, but now the young hair stylist is making a name for herself as a leading advocate of the BUAV's Clean Up Cruelty campaign.

Shocked to hear the UK Government still licenses the testing of everyday household products on animals, the glamorous Tara told us: "There's really no justification for animal testing for household products and I wouldn't have entertained it for a second for my own Tara Smith haircare range. The actresses that I work with all feel equally strongly and wouldn't want to use an animal-tested product, so I'd urge all consumers to look for the Leaping Bunny logo as a mark of assurance."

The BUAV has been working closely with Tara to ensure that all of the products in her new Tara Smith haircare range meet the BUAV's strict cruelty free criteria.

She adds: "It was so important to me that my range was cruelty free and as natural as possible without having to be kept in the fridge. I researched who the Body Shop's top person was in the Anita Roddick days and that's who I took on to help me with my formulations. I truly believe every woman should have the chance to decide what she wants to use on her hair without paying a premium, which is why all of my products cost under £5. Natural, organic and cruelty free products shouldn't just be for the rich!"
